Project ECHO

Project ECHO Logo

Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is an innovative tele-mentoring program designed to create virtual communities of learners by bringing together healthcare providers and subject matter experts using videoconference technology, brief lecture presentations, and case-based learning, fostering an “all learn, all teach” approach.  Participants are engaged in the bi-directional virtual knowledge network by sharing clinical challenges and learning from experts and peers.

Morehouse School of Medicine has partnered with the Georgia Department of Public Health to deliver a comprehensive Project ECHO series to review interdisciplinary approaches to the management of Opioid Use Disorder. The sessions will include opportunities for participants to review de-identified cases (submitted in advance) that serve as the focus for in-depth discussions related to a comprehensive team-based approach to care.

As it is known, Opioid Use Disorder is often difficult to manage and leads to a variety of complications. Management of these patients demands knowledge of a combination of medications and other nonpharmacological treatments which are very complex. The goal of this Project ECHO is to assist medical and public health professionals to become experts in caring and understanding the needs of these patients.

You will benefit, your patients will benefit, and the community as a whole will benefit.
