Common FAQs
1. When do we begin to use Canvas?
The institution will begin using Canvas summer 2018. By fall 2019, Blackboard will
be decommissioned and no longer supported.
2. What will happen to the Blackboard content?
Courses have already been migrated from Blackboard to Canvas. However, all content
in Blackboard will be kept for about 6 months. During this time, you may do the following:
Faculty:
- Download and save copies of your grade books
- Download and organize any course files you may need off site
Students:
- Download any course materials you may need off site
3. How do I access Canvas?
Internal Students & Faculty:
- Direct at or via Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Connect
- Enter your network credentials
External Students & Faculty:
- Direct at or via Canvas Catalog
- Enter the email and password used to create account
4. What should I do if my Ï㽶ÊÓƵ network credentials do not work?

5. What should I do if my Canvas login does not work?
Internal Students & Faculty:
- Try to reset your password at

External Students & Faculty:
- Try to reset your account from the login screen
- Email canvas@msm.edu
6. What should I do if I do not see my course listed in Canvas?
Internal Students:
- Courses are accessible if you are registered through Banner
- Check with your instructor to see if the course is published
External Students:
- Check with your instructor to see if the course is published
Faculty:
- Email canvas@msm.edu
7. How will I get training on Canvas?
The ODL support team will provide various pathways for learning about Canvas. Be on
the lookout for the information.
