Biotechnology: Transforming Life as We Know It

New discoveries in biotechnology are transforming life as we know it. The field intersects biology and technology, leading new product development and commercialization designed to enrich lives. From drug development to the production of biologics as well as plant and animal science to medical device development - biotechnology is everywhere. That’s why it is no surprise our Masters of Science in Biotechnology (MSBT) students have internships at federal agencies, start-up incubators, and other top research institutions. We’re excited for them as they charge toward their December 2019 graduation as the first-ever graduates from an online program at 㽶Ƶ and look forward to their future contributions to the field.

2019 Student Internship Placements

  • Yerkes Biomarkers Core Laboratory at Emory University

I am hoping to gain a better understanding of the biological, chemical, and physical factors that influence the precision, accuracy, and reproducibility of test data from human/animal laboratory samples. I plan to achieve this by doing a review of existing literature, collecting information relevant to my topic, and by developing an experiment that seeks to examine the factors that influence the quality of test data from laboratory samples.”
