Tabia Henry Akintobi, PhD, MPH

Tabia Henry Akintobi, PhD, MPH is Professor of Community Health and Preventive Medicine, Associate Dean of Community Engagement, and Principal Investigator and Director of the Prevention Research Center at Morehouse School of Medicine. She has extensive experience in community-based participatory research, community-engaged public health practice, and experiential learning among trainees across the health professional career development pipeline. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and earned both a Master of Public Health and Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health from the University of South Florida’s College of Public Health.
Charity Starr Mitchell, DMin, MDiv, LMSW
Director, The Office of Community Engagement
Dr. Charity Starr Mitchell is an Atlanta native, with over 14 years of experience as a Student Affairs professional. Dr. Mitchell applies an interdisciplinary approach to Community Engagement by coalescing the fields of social work, theology, and higher education as the framework for her community-based practice. She began her academic studies at Talladega College in Talladega, AL majoring in Social Work. She also holds a MSW from The University of Alabama and a Master of Divinity from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology in Religion and Health.
Dr. Mitchell also earned a Doctor of Ministry in Urban Ministries and Community Development from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. In 2019, Dr. Mitchell was selected to be a part of the Spelman College 2020-2022 Thriving in Ministry Cohort, a fellowship for women of color who are actively serving in ministry while implementing social justice and restorative justice initiatives in local communities across the United States. She joined Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Office of Community Engagement as the Director of Community Engagement on April 11, 2022.
Danielle Duvernay, MSHI
Coordinator Office of Community Engagement and the H.E.A.L. Clinic
Danielle Duvernay is the Program Coordinator for the Office of Community Engagement and for the H.E.A.L. (Health Equity for ALL Lives) free Student-Run Clinic. She has experience in developing community partnerships and routinely works to service and collaborate with underserved and indigent communities in metropolitan and rural Georgia. Ms. Duvernay received her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and obtained her Master of Science in Health Informatics degree from Morehouse School of Medicine.
Ms. Duvernay has served on staff for Morehouse School of Medicine for over a decade serving in various departments, including Clinical Affairs, Family Medicine, and Community Health and Preventive Medicine. In 2019 she was awarded the prestigious "Rising Star" award in recognition of her dedication and support of our Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Students, Faculty and Staff. In 2022 she was awarded the GEBS (Graduate Education in Biomedical Science) Certificate of Academic Honors Rising Star in Master of Science in Health Informatics Award, the Master of Science in Health Informatics Academic Honors Award, and the Master of Science in Health Informatics Online Ambassador Award.
Cindy Chaengjamras, BA
Community Health Worker
Cindy Chaengjamras graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy with a concentration in Non-Profit Leadership. While in school, she had passion for learning local governance and how policies impact the community and address societal issues. She gained a passion for working in the community because her studies allowed her to open her eyes to what the community needs in terms of resources and assistance.
Before her employment at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, Ms. Chaengjamras was employed at Center for Pan Asian Community Services (CPACS), a non-profit social service agency in Gwinnett County. She worked as a health program coordinator and gained experience working within the community through outreach initiatives and her work as an ACA Navigator. Ms. Chaengjamras was tasked with a variety of duties that included promoting substance use prevention, testing community members for HIV, collecting/inputting data, and completing quarterly and annual reports. As an ACA Navigator, she assisted clients with searching for and enrolling into insurance plans under ACA. Ms. Chaengjamras brings several skillsets to the OCE team such as data collection, analytical assessment, and report development to assist the team with detailing our narrative of advancing health equity in the Atlanta and Metro Atlanta communities as well as urban and rural counties throughout Georgia.
Sabrina Mobley Frazier
Community Health Worker
Sabrina Mobley Frazier is a trusted and well-respected Community Health Worker leading and supporting community-campus partnerships for the Morehouse School of Medicine Prevention Research Center and the Office of Community Engagement since 2014. She supports patient/community engagement recruitment, data collection, education, and outreach and dissemination efforts. Sabrina is dedicated to service learning, community building and serves on the Summerhill Neighborhood Development Corporation as a board member within the Metropolitan Atlanta Neighborhood Planning Unit V. Although Sabrina previously shared residence in the NPU-V & T neighborhood, she is committed to providing support and remains active whenever support is needed.
